ORKID – Lay Low

ORKID delivers a candid vocal over something like synchronized culinary clangor in “Lay Low”. Pots and pans, hand claps and the clinking of metal pipes contribute to a sense of frenzy that punctuates the rhythm as if ORKID has help from the kitchen staff. She refuses to submit to constraints and is prepared to drink, steal and outpace police to exercise her freedom. That recklessness reflects, as ORKID describes, “getting to a point where I simply don’t give a — and where I want to misbehave. I want to do whatever I feel like. I want to wake up in Vegas.”

The 21-year-old lives in Stockholm—the capital of pop—but grew up listening to Nat King Cole and Sam Cooke. These contrasting influences manifest in ORKID’s ability to be both on-trend and mature beyond her years. At only 16, she used the Idol stage to transition from performing small town gigs to playing on an international stage. In the next three years, ORKID completed her education, improved her songwriting and stage presence and developed into one of Sweden’s most exciting artist exports.

All Faces – Summer In London

All Faces

All Faces is a pop/folk band from London. Lead by singing duo Ben and Daphne, the group formed in 2017. The band’s music relies heavily on the singular texture the mix of their voices creates and on meaningful songwriting.

Benjamin was born and raised in Paris. After having started to play the guitar at age 15, he quickly became involved with several bands, getting to play in notorious venues in France: The Bataclan, the New Morning, The Alhambra, The backstage and others.
He moved to the UK to attend the British and Irish Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) and met Daphne, with whom he would eventually form All Faces.

Daphne was born in Paris and lived in multiple countries like South Korea and Belgium before moving back to France. Her passion for singing started at age 12 and only grew stronger. By age 16, she had performed in many renowned Parisian venues and then moved to London to pursue her career. She enrolled BIMM London in 2016 and met Ben with whom she formed All Faces in 2017.

Influenced by the likes of Vance Joy, The Lumineers, Bon Iver and Simon and Garfunkel, they managed to achieve a distinctive pop/folk sound with a strong identity. Experienced performers, they have played in venues like The Troubadour, The Hoxton Underbelly, and The New Morning in Paris.
After meeting with the production team at The Record Label in October of 2017, they immediately started to work on their debut EP. Their first single “The Oaks” is a folk ballad that was released on April 15th and has already reached 22k streams on spotify. It was followed by their second single ”Summer In London” on May 18th, released with a lyric video. This track is the perfect summer tune that will transmit its happy vibes and make you dance all year long.
Their eponymous EP will be released in June and will include ”The Oaks”, ”Summer In London” and 2 other exclusive tracks.
They will also be performing at the Acklam Village Market on June 2nd and at the Workshop on June 22nd.
