cuja – don’t forget about me

Cuja, otherwise known as Alyssa Cudamat, is an electric LA-based pop artist that is creating her own terms when it comes to music. She fuses elements of retro-pop with a fresh forward-thinking electro-pop twist, combined with cheeky and relatable lyrics; her personality shines through every aspect of her music.

Her passion for music began at a very young age as she spent most of her childhood traveling around the world in a touring choir, performing everywhere from France to China. This experience cultivated not only her voice, but her sense of self (and her love of food!). She’s skilled and self-taught in guitar, piano, and ukulele and is currently teaching herself how to make her own music. Cuja strives to be a woman of all trades.

Inspired by girl-power artists like Hayley Kiyoko, Dua Lipa, and Ariana Grande, Cuja took her sound and transformed it into her own: a shimmery, electronic pop that serves as her canvas for heartbreak, jealousy, and pleasure.

She has a drive to succeed like no other, partially due to the lack of Asian-American representation within the music industry. She felt a huge disconnect growing up as a mixed Asian-American child in America. Instead of getting upset about the lack of diversity, she decided to utilize her own voice and story, making it her goal to provide more opportunities for minorities and marginalized groups in music. On this topic, Cuja explains “I’m very excited to be a part of diversifying the pallet of creative individuals in the industry. It’s a personal mission of mine to work with and support marginalized creatives. I think everyone is yearning badly to hear the stories of POC’s, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, people with disabilities, etc. It’s time mainstream pop, and all genres for that matter, reflect the world. It’s time these voices are heard.”

After releasing her debut EP, simply titled Vol. 1, on June 21, Cuja has plenty more planned for the year. Stay tuned for a new single in July, along with an accompanying show at Los Angeles’ esteemed The Peppermint Club on July 20.

dwilly – ugh

South Carolina native David Wilson, commonly known as dwilly, first broke into the electronic music scene while attending Berklee College of Music in 2016. Currently based in LA, dwilly is a producer, songwriter, and vocalist that blends elements of hip-hop and EDM. With releases on Monstercat Records and Majestic Casual Records, dwilly has songs that have peaked at #24 on iTunes Pop Charts, #10 on US Viral 50 Spotify chart, and #48 on the Global Viral 50 Spotify Chart. dwilly has amassed over 10 million streams in 2018 and has been featured in New Music Friday US. Having “cooked up quite the sonic formula” (Hillydilly), dwilly has built notoriety as a producer having two top 5 Splice sound libraries becoming well known for his unique approach to sound design.

dwillly is an all-in-one artist, producer, singer, and songwriter that is extremely versatile among pop, EDM, and urban. He has been in NMF US, and is signed to APA. He has sync placements with Smirnoff, Bank of America, and MTV. Produced official remixes for “So Close” by NOTD Ft. Felix Jaehn & Captain Cuts, “Move On” by Mike Posner and GREY’s “Want You Back“. Will be opening up at Zedd On The Rocks on June 19th, 2019 alongside Hippie Sabotage and Snakehips.

“CRAYOLA the EP is a retirement from the early stages of my artistry and into my deeper darker personal struggles. As I approach the age of 24, I realize my music has matured into something much more emotional and honest. That being said, the songs are flooded with immaturity, youthfulness, and a punch to the gut. I now see things differently as an adult, having to deal with the everyday bullshit that was once foreign to me as a kid. The lyrical content itself shies from popular topics like the culture surrounding drugs and violence and truthfully embraces things like failure and anxiety. My favorite part about the EP is how unsystematic the tracklist is, reflecting my impulsive imagination. Each song offers a different vibe. I want both kids and adults to fuck with this. I’m not targeting any audiences, just simply painting my mind onto a canvas for anyone to enjoy.”

Natalie Major – Waves

Unsigned Music

Unsigned Natalie Major translates raw emotion and relatable experiences into anthemic and ambitious pop punctuated by down-tempo beats, skyscraper-size vocals, and unabashed and cathartic honesty. After moving to L.A. to pursue a lifelong musical dream back in 2014, the artist bubbled up with a series of high-profile songwriting placements and vocal spots. Among those, Natalie penned and featured on Bobby Puma’s “Someone Somewhere,” and Tiësto included the track’s “Tiësto Edit” on the fourth installment of his popular Club Life series: Club Life, Vol. 4 – New York City. “Someone Somewhere” peaked in the Top 5 of Beatport’s Top 100 and landed onSpotify’s Global Viral Top 50. Next, the songstress teamed up with Dutch sensation Showtek and Brooks for “On Our Own,” which clocked over 11.2 million Spotify streams in under six months.  By 2017, her cumulative streams would exceed 20 million and counting. However, audiences get to finally experience her vision in 2018.

Natalie kicks off the new year with Waves. Receiving a feature in the Freeform series premiere ofgrown-ish, the single ebbs and flows between breathy verses and a seismic and soaring chorus that’s as empowering as it is entrancing. Now is her moment. With music and touring planned throughout 2018, she stands poised to connect like never before. – Rick Florino, Written On Time Inc.

Romy – Wild Heart

There is no rest for Brisbane/LA based rising pop superstar ROMY. From writing songs for industry heavyweights to working alongside the likes of T-Pain, Bad Boy Records and Savage, ROMY has been busy carving a name out for herself as a dynamic artist both here and abroad.

Training in all aspects of the entertainment industry (singing, dancing and acting) from a young age, she wrote her first song at the age of seven, and attended the Griffith University Conservatorium of Music when she was just 11 years old. ”I’ve always tried to learn as much as I can about what it takes to be in the music industry. It’s a field that you have to continuously work at and keep pushing forward in, in order to create success, ” she said.

ROMY certainly isn’t afraid of hard work, remaining steadfastly independent. She writes her own songs and directed the music video for her debut single Wild Heart, which visually depicts the anxious struggle we all feel to break free of social expectations. Wild Heart is a brilliant introduction to what she stands for. The song encourages listeners to be boldly independent in a world that discourages those that don’t ‘fit in.’

Working in both the Brisbane and Los Angeles music scenes, ROMY notes there are vast differences between the two, with the urban, hip-hop style of the LA scene complementing her music well. ROMY’s debut single Wild Heart has received astounding reception with airplay rotation on Triple J, Radio Metro and many other radio stations across Australia and overseas. ROMY’s self-directed music video was nominated ‘Artist of The Month’ on ‘Channel V Discover’, in addition to being televised on ‘Channel V’ music channel and was a finalist in ‘Video of The Year’ and ‘People’s Choice Award’ at the Gold Coast Music Awards 2016. ROMY was crowned ‘Faces of Music to Watch in 2016’ by news.com.au, published nationally in all major news print.

ROMY has been working with a number of highly notable producers and musicians in Los Angeles, that also produce and play for artists such as Katy Perry, Frank Ocean, Lady Gaga and Rihanna to name but a few. Musical Director for Jennifer Lopez, Bryant Siono is now her musical director and producing majority of her upcoming debut album. ROMY was nominated for ‘Urban Song Of The Year’ and ‘Video Of The Year’ at the 2017 Queensland Music Awards. She performed her song ‘Wild Heart’ at the Awards, which won ‘Urban Song Of The Year!’
