Brighton-based Welsh songstress Edie Bens will be releasing her debut single ‘The First One’ on all major streaming platforms. The song is a nostalgic account of teenage angst recorded with her live band and produced by the amazing Josh Harrison who is currently working with Royal Blood. Combining folk and Americana influences with hearty pop melodies, her heartfelt and honest music was first noticed by the producers of ITV’s ‘This Morning,’ where, at the age of 16, one of her songs was aired on live television, with host Philip Schofield noting her as ‘one to watch’. Edie has had airplay on BBC Radio Wales, BBC introducing and has live experience at festivals including last years ‘The Great Escape’ in Brighton, a hot-bed for emerging talent in the industry. Selling out her first headline show in Brighton this year at The Prince Albert Edie Bens has a growing reputation as one of the South Easts most exciting artists. 2019 clearly has a lot in store for this bright young starlet, with her return to ‘The Great Escape’ as well as tour support for Chloe Foy and a summer packed with numerous festivals and even a few dates overseas.
