cuja – don’t forget about me

Cuja, otherwise known as Alyssa Cudamat, is an electric LA-based pop artist that is creating her own terms when it comes to music. She fuses elements of retro-pop with a fresh forward-thinking electro-pop twist, combined with cheeky and relatable lyrics; her personality shines through every aspect of her music.

Her passion for music began at a very young age as she spent most of her childhood traveling around the world in a touring choir, performing everywhere from France to China. This experience cultivated not only her voice, but her sense of self (and her love of food!). She’s skilled and self-taught in guitar, piano, and ukulele and is currently teaching herself how to make her own music. Cuja strives to be a woman of all trades.

Inspired by girl-power artists like Hayley Kiyoko, Dua Lipa, and Ariana Grande, Cuja took her sound and transformed it into her own: a shimmery, electronic pop that serves as her canvas for heartbreak, jealousy, and pleasure.

She has a drive to succeed like no other, partially due to the lack of Asian-American representation within the music industry. She felt a huge disconnect growing up as a mixed Asian-American child in America. Instead of getting upset about the lack of diversity, she decided to utilize her own voice and story, making it her goal to provide more opportunities for minorities and marginalized groups in music. On this topic, Cuja explains “I’m very excited to be a part of diversifying the pallet of creative individuals in the industry. It’s a personal mission of mine to work with and support marginalized creatives. I think everyone is yearning badly to hear the stories of POC’s, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, people with disabilities, etc. It’s time mainstream pop, and all genres for that matter, reflect the world. It’s time these voices are heard.”

After releasing her debut EP, simply titled Vol. 1, on June 21, Cuja has plenty more planned for the year. Stay tuned for a new single in July, along with an accompanying show at Los Angeles’ esteemed The Peppermint Club on July 20.

C. Gold – Nobody

C. Gold

C. Gold is the new smashing artist from Sweden that, with his debut single ‘’Nobody feat. Fancy Dave’’, shows that he is here to stay! It’s not very often an artist makes an entrance as strong as C. Golds.

Some artists take years to figure out their sound and style, but listening to ‘’Nobody’’ and seeing the artwork makes C. Gold’s debut crystal clear and easy to love! Worth to know is that he does it all completely independent.

Nobody Feat. Fancy Dave is a groovy electronic pop song with new thinking beats and a lyric that tells the struggle of being a young creator in the most obvious way. When you’re young and working hard to reach your dreams, it can feel like a long way till you’ll see any gold. But listening to C.Gold will guaranteed be the most valuable thing you’ve done in a long time!

Two friends from Philadelphia trek through the crossroads of life with their music and a smile. She is Hetepsa, he is Nu Ra. They are Camp Candle.

The duo met at W.B Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, a school with a farm, located right in Philly. Throughout the years, the “farm school” became an unusual and often therapeutic outlet away from the decadence that plagues the city streets. Most city folk don’t have the opportunity to do something so outside of themselves and their surroundings. Camp Candle wishes to share that feeling  that comes from living beyond the limits of a situation through their music, because not everyone can turn to landscaping and tending to sheep as an outlet.

Camp Candle draws their influences from many places. You can find hints of synth pop, hip hop, indie rock, soul, and many other styles of music. Nu Ra, who does ½ of the production starts the instrumentation. When Hetepsa brings her flavor, she moves the music along with her lyrics and voice. When it’s all melted together, it can only be described as Camp Candle.

Camp Candle plans on touring, connecting with thousands of people, and creating a genuine relationship with all who enjoy their music.

Ohlayindigo is a San Francisco-based electronic pop duo from Norway and the UK, composed of singer and songwriter Hanna Ponth, and drummer Zak Shrapnell.

Having been passionate about singing and writing lyrics from a young age, Hanna studied for her bachelor’s degree in music at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in England. Ohlayindigo’s lyrics are inspired by lived life, people’s stories, feelings and emotions. The rich electronic soundscape of their songs highlight and give depth to each nuance of their lyrics, making their music a thorough and impassioned whole. Ohlayindigo describes their musical genre as scandi electro pop with an emotional twist, aimed at people who seek out or dare to be themselves. They wish to make a difference with their music by making people feel understood.
