Double Agent is Australian music producer returning with three solid reworks of the original new single Feels Like including a VIP version from the DJ himself. Partnering with upcoming producers Wildfire and Secret Spade.
Known for his hold over dancefloors across Australia, Double Agent can often be found commanding clubs and warehouses with his deep, dark and club-orentitated tunes. Often drawing on the diverse styles of house music, the remix pack brings together the multi-spanning sounds to help demonstrate how he continually pushed boundaries within both the scene and his releases. Wildfire’s interpretation uses a jackin’ house beat complete with pumping basslines perfect for the club, whilst Secret Spade slows down the tempo of Feels Like with a pollination of funky bass synths. Drawing the remixes to a close, Double Agent rounds off by adapting the original tune by warping the vocals to transform the pop-tinged track into a bass house banger.
Joe Hawes in an English DJ and Producer based out of the South West town, Torquay. Having started his musical journey at a very young age, Joe first picked up a set of drum sticks at the age of twelve and instantly fell in love with the repetitive nature of creating beats. Also training in orchestral percussion, Joe would eventually go on to study Drums with Music and Music Tech at a music college, eventually finishing with a grade 8 in Drumming and also Orchestral Percussion. Having also learned to play the bass guitar, guitar and piano, music was always a career path Joe would dream about walking but it wasn’t until taking up DJing at the age of seventeen that his dream started to become a reality. With a natural tendency towards drumming and creating energetic beats, his transition into electronic music was a smooth one and Joe soon began to make a name for himself as both a DJ and a producer.
With positive energetic music always at the forefront of Joe’s work, house music was the natural direction for his DJing career to take. Using live drums and electronic pads in his sets, along with bass heavy drops quickly helped Joe find his place in the ranks of the finest up and coming Future House DJs in the UK and beyond. Inspired by the likes of Don Diablo and Martin Garrix, Joe fits the mould of a big room DJ to a tee and with appearances in Amnesia, Ibiza for Cream and at a sold out Wakestock Festival in Wales, supporting the likes of Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 along the way, it is easy to see why he is considered one to watch on the UK’s clubbing circuit. Currently holding residencies for Park Lane, Torquay and Embargos, London, as well as weekly performances in many of Torquay’s most popular student venues, Joe is a DJ who gets the same buzz from playing to a crowd in an intimate venue as he does to a super club in Ibiza, for him it really is all about the music.
Having done some remix work for various artist in the past, Joe is now concentrating his efforts on making his own original productions. After founding his own label, Coffee House Records, Joe has a catalogue of tracks awaiting release, including a rework of a Coldplay song, which has been “going off” at all of his recent shows. Joe also hosts a monthly radio show on Mixcloud, Coffee House Radio, where he showcases his own productions and shares his hottest selections.
With an ever growing list of local and international bookings, including a debut set in Ibiza’s Eden Nightclub, as well as a number of releases lined up on Coffee House Records, it’s clear that 2018 is going to be a real breakthrough year for Joe Hawes. Watch this space.
