Kehli – Believe It

London based pop starlet KEHLI has announced the release of her next single ‘Believe It’, slated for release on 20 September. Recorded at the prestigious SARM Studios (Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode) the track was mastered by Mike Marsh (Sam Smith, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris). It follows on from her hugely popular ‘One Last Kiss’ (feat Kid Eternal & Sam Ojo). KEHLI has worked alongside acclaimed producers including MSRD and Cam Poole (Anne Marie, Mabel, Raye) and has shared the stage with Irish pop acts Josh Gray and also recently Soulé. The track has already reached Top 5 positions in UK Club charts including contemporary pop, urban and club urban as noted in Music Week, and received radio airplay from BBC Radio 1’s Charlie Hedges and Melvin as well as Kiss FM. The young songstress has already racked up over 215K streams across her Spotify alone, reached over 44K monthly listeners. She’s also seen support from When The Horn Blows, The Digital Fix, CelebMix, Vents Magazine, Ear Milk, Hot Press, The Irish Times and Chill Sounds Good.

KEHLI first made waves when footage of her singing Jorja Smith’s ‘Let Me Down’ went viral on Instagram, racking up 22K views in its first 48hrs. The Dublin native had already gained invaluable experience performing on shows such as X-Factor and The Voice, and had started to pique the interest of fans around the globe, but the power of social media led to an introduction with New York/London based songwriter/producer MSRD, who worked alongside her to cultivate her soulful, passionate and unique interpretation of contemporary pop music.

KEHLI is influenced by acts such as Anne Marie, Adele and Raye, but it is her buoyant energy and ability to put her own stamp on current pop trends that brings a distinctive edge to her sound, while at the same time drawing parallels to contemporary pop counterparts such as Halsey, and Dua Lipa.

On ‘Believe It’ KEHLI lets her crystalline vocals take centre stage, underpinned by a bold beat and gutsy electronic textures. Teaming up with the same powerhouse production team KID ETERNAL as her previous release, the track showcases her magnetic performance abilities, with a certain brave, defiant spirit that is a testament to her live-wire charisma. ‘Believe It’ captures both her vibrant spirit as well as her arresting voice, to create a snappy and utterly enjoyable pop offering.

Speaking of the single, KEHLI says, “I recorded ‘Believe it’ this summer at SARM Studios and had the best time! It’s a fun track that I hope people include in their prinks playlist as it gets me in the mood to go out! Love the upbeat tempo and energy of it!!”.

Joe Hawes – Always

Joe Hawes in an English DJ and Producer based out of the South West town, Torquay. Having started his musical journey at a very young age, Joe first picked up a set of drum sticks at the age of twelve and instantly fell in love with the repetitive nature of creating beats. Also training in orchestral percussion, Joe would eventually go on to study Drums with Music and Music Tech at a music college, eventually finishing with a grade 8 in Drumming and also Orchestral Percussion. Having also learned to play the bass guitar, guitar and piano, music was always a career path Joe would dream about walking but it wasn’t until taking up DJing at the age of seventeen that his dream started to become a reality. With a natural tendency towards drumming and creating energetic beats, his transition into electronic music was a smooth one and Joe soon began to make a name for himself as both a DJ and a producer.
With positive energetic music always at the forefront of Joe’s work, house music was the natural direction for his DJing career to take. Using live drums and electronic pads in his sets, along with bass heavy drops quickly helped Joe find his place in the ranks of the finest up and coming Future House DJs in the UK and beyond. Inspired by the likes of Don Diablo and Martin Garrix, Joe fits the mould of a big room DJ to a tee and with appearances in Amnesia, Ibiza for Cream and at a sold out Wakestock Festival in Wales, supporting the likes of Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 along the way, it is easy to see why he is considered one to watch on the UK’s clubbing circuit. Currently holding residencies for Park Lane, Torquay and Embargos, London, as well as weekly performances in many of Torquay’s most popular student venues, Joe is a DJ who gets the same buzz from playing to a crowd in an intimate venue as he does to a super club in Ibiza, for him it really is all about the music.
Having done some remix work for various artist in the past, Joe is now concentrating his efforts on making his own original productions. After founding his own label, Coffee House Records, Joe has a catalogue of tracks awaiting release, including a rework of a Coldplay song, which has been “going off” at all of his recent shows. Joe also hosts a monthly radio show on Mixcloud, Coffee House Radio, where he showcases his own productions and shares his hottest selections.
With an ever growing list of local and international bookings, including a debut set in Ibiza’s Eden Nightclub, as well as a number of releases lined up on Coffee House Records, it’s clear that 2018 is going to be a real breakthrough year for Joe Hawes. Watch this space.
